Look for mud tubes along walls, foundations, or pipes. Tap wooden surfaces - hollow sounds indicate termite damage. Check for discarded wings near windows or light sources, especially after rain. Small piles of frass (termite droppings) near wooden structures are another sign.

What types of termites are common in Bangkok?

Bangkok primarily has subterranean termites (the most destructive type) and drywood termites. Subterranean termites build mud tubes and need soil contact. Drywood termites live inside the wood itself and do not need soil contact.

How long does termite treatment take?

A standard soil treatment for a home takes 1-2 days. Baiting systems are installed in a few hours but work over weeks as termites carry the bait back to the colony. The full elimination cycle typically takes 2-3 months with baiting.
